@Cyberdevil Referring to the last message from the previous Poster...

Sure, we will join this: https://www.newgrounds.com/calendar/ as we will be just before the premiere of Reduce 2... And when it comes to our private calendar, we will think in the future too... for now there is no time, because it would probably take a long time... to create a beautiful calendar... :P

As for the background for the main menu, it will automatically change every month, and in addition there will be a few additional backgrounds for special occasions: Mejson's birthday, Halloween, holidays and more...
The special ones can be set - the lower left corner will be rolled up, and the word "Special" will appear and after clicking on it a list with the background change will appear...
I'm asking for ideas for special backgrounds. :P

Unfortunately, I don't have a premieres planned for October yet, but 10 will be the premiere of scene 13 - "The thing..."

This month I have a birthday (lots of parties with different people) and a sister's wedding, so I don't know when it will be premiere scene on 14 and on etc...

Regards,
Mejson

Ah alright, I've just never seen a premiere there before. I'm not sure they'd add something that's not a real community event. Something everyone can get involved in. Make something for. Win something in. You know? But good luck!

Sounds ambitious! :D Awesome. Would the special ones appear automatically on special days too, though? Feels like they wouldn't be as special if you just chose between them freely, outside that special day, but good fun either way. Well, ideas: Christmas, April Fool's Day, St. Patrick's Day, CAPS LOCK Day, Pancake Day, Waffle Day... you know there are just too many of these! What would be relevant to the series though hmm... maybe just Christmas and April Fools? Pico Day would be cool too.

Ah nice, looking forward to that, and hope the wedding goes well! Big day.

Regarding the scene: this is getting pretty ferocious. :O

Well, then, we have to make Reduce 2 an event for the community. Do you know how to do it? Talk to these people: https://www.newgrounds.com/wiki/about-newgrounds/staff or something else? :P

Yes, I would like the background to change automatically: for a month, for a specific day (holiday). This special I wanted to do for these specific days (holidays) so that the user can change manually if he wants. However, I'm currently going to create scene 13.

Yes these are definitely good ideas. :) Thanks!

Cruelly? Maybe so. Certainly in difficult moments people lose their temper and certainly in unexpected moments, people can lose their sobriety mind and fall into depression...

Well that's up to you I think. :) If you arrange a good event they might include it! I'm not sure they'd be willing to sponsor something. ;) But yeah, they're the people to talk to if you have ideas.

Sounds perfect. :)

Too true.

I don't know if I can do it because I don't know exactly what it would look like. We will think about it in the future, now I do not know what I can offer them and what to ask for... :P

It would be nice if someone would help me more actively because currently few people are involved and those who are not have too much time. I try, but I do different things myself, but I'm not the best at all - maybe I have a lot of skills in creating animations and sense of taste of sense, but in thinking of a script I'm not some brilliant, and even more I'm not good at self-promotion...

What I think about this scene?- Wow, this is unexpected behavior for me, although title of the scene says everything |:

I'm glad you like it. Well, hard times are coming in Reduce history...

It would be nice if you participated more often. :P

Yeah, arranging a real community event's no simple thing. :) You could always check what other things are listed there, and fetch some inspiration from them. When time comes!

Mmm, programming's not my strong suite either, but maybe I could help a bit with the promotion later on... right now it's just way too much going on. With Inktober I think October's really going to fly by too. November maybe I could chip in a bit! But no promises.

Exactly...

When the time comes!

How will you be able to have time...

In time... I hope I have! I no know how, but holy cow, when time's free... wow. :P

Cool, you are a valuable member of the team... :)

I gained a new level on NG - 43 :) but it looks strange somehow - a lame monster in a picnic basket? :P :P :P

File reduce_2.swf currently has 47mb - the size of this file is growing rapidly, if it will approach dangerously to 100mb then I will have to give up various backgrounds in the main menu, and if this add-on will delay premiere I will delete.

@Cyberdevil Could this limit be avoided somehow?

In scene 13, I'm currently doing the final moment of this scene, at the moment this scene has 47 seconds and I suspect it can last 75 seconds.

That's it when it comes to news, have a nice day. :)

I wasn't a big fan of that one either. XD Apparently these weird ones are all movie references though, I can't remember which movie it was related too... I know the shotgun's from Evil Dead, and the shark with lasers Austin Powers.

Hmm, well it's possible to load files externally. You could host either backgrounds somewhere else, or large scenes, and link to them within the file. I've thought about making a gallery of all my old work this way before, but I never really got the code working for it. Not sure what I tried, but you can find a lot of alternatives via Google: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/16091105/loading-external-swf-in-actionscript-2

If it's all too much trouble though, the scenes definitely seem more important than extra backgrounds. :) A nice day to you too!

OK, such a small easter egg :P

I will try, but as a last resort - I will try to fit in 100mb...

@Cyberdevil I wonder and think that maybe a cooler background is a sequence of photos changing after, for example, 3 minutes - "the fortress" screens or photos from random scenes?

Oh and Congrats on the level up anyway! :D The level icon's just all the more incentive to get the next one quick...

Thanks, I liked the previous one very much... What will be next? :P

You can see them all here. ;)

Yeah, that sounds like a pretty good idea! Could have some transitional effects, slow background movement and such too? Maybe a selection of scenes that alternate randomly, and some easter egg scenes that get added in if you just leave the menu open for a certain amount of time? :D If the code for that is simpler than it sounds like it might be...

Funny animation - project :)

We'll see, still I want to talk with MariogD about this idea, but you will be able to choose (in addition to the default) various images and they will be displayed in the main menu.

Thanks. :) Though not much animation. I miss the times when gadgets like this were common...

Sounds great.

Cool. :)

I also miss the old days...

We'll see!

Hello, your gourmets "Reduce 2"... :P :P :P

I just finished 60 seconds of scene 13. Also, it will be divided into two parts: "Paly I" and "Play II". In the second, complete madness begins... XD

I added on film (the choice of scenes during the animation) - under each stage - representative the time which show scene length. It's very elegant addition and inform viewer an view of the animation length... :)

It's difficult to predict when scene 13 will be ready, because it's only when creating the animation that it turns out that it requires more time than I thought before. That's why I won't tell you when the release date is. I'm sorry about that, but I can't help it... :/

PS. I have already created background elements for subsequent scenes (maybe not all), but it's always less work in the future... :P

Regards,
Mejson

Hello to you (I don't know if anyone will read it, because at my last comment no one has reacted),

I regret to inform you that Scene 13 is as labor intensive as Scene 4...
It requires a lot of work and time. It currently has 72 seconds and is still growing... :P
I have a lot of duties this month, so I can sit a maximum of 3-4 hours over the animation every day. :/
I hope you still remember me...

Best regards,
Mejson
