@Anonymous-Frog Potentially reaching new audiences maybe? ;) Considering how long these episodes take to make I personally don't mind a little extra exposure with something like this, plus the conversion's not all automatic, but you're right, both versions on the same submission page usually seems like the way to go.

@Anonymous-Frog I see your point, but old flash version has more content that - from my point of view - is quite valuable. So we would like to have old flash version with menu, character description, scene selection, additional scences' descritpion and new convienient mp4 version if somebody does not want to use flash anymore.

Hopefully no other artist schedule's Tuesday specifically. :) If you really want to go for the day with least competition I suppose going through P-Bot posts for particular days would be a way to figure out when at least historically the bar's the lowest... but anyway: Tuesday sounds good! Feels like a lot of artists start the week with an upload too.

Cool, I don't care so much about it, but I don't want to disturb others artist :) Especially out of respect :)

Btw @Mejson @MariogD it seems maybe you're not aware it's possible to have both .swf and .mp4 for the same submission? Uploading an .mp4 shouldn't replace the original, just provide an alternative for the user. Your account options set the default for you personally, but you can switch formats on the submission page too. You can see this on a lot of old submissions, for example: https://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/338798

Though I'm fine with either that or standalone versions. The more the merrier. Benefit of submitting standalone versions would be extended reach. Downside being users might get annoyed with you spamming the Portal when you could keep alternative submissions on the same page, though at this pace that doesn't feel like an issue IMO.

Hmmmmm interesting, although the location of the "switch" is completely invisible (the user does not pay much attention to this section). We'll think... this project (Reduce 2- Part II (.mp4 version)) is ready, but for Reduce 2 - Pass of Time, we can think of doing it. especially when it turns out that it will have to be divided into two parts (it will be too long for one part). :)

@Anonymous-Frog @Mejson "The Flash (SWF) version also has more content (beautiful descriptions etc) that we wouldn't want to be forgotten / replaced. :)"

Shouldn't something like THAT be included in the description? Also, if you're going to reupload Reduce 2 as a MP4, might as well combine both parts into one, like you weren't able to do previously due to Flash's limitations. That would probably be the best option.

The description would be very unreadable and too long because these descriptions are long... People don't like too much information at once.

Moreover, those projects are a souvenir :) I can see that you do not have such fondness for Flash as we do :)

@Anonymous-Frog Mmm that's a good idea! Both parts as one would really make the .mp4 version all the more special/exclusive. Higher score potential. :P

@Anonymous-Frog, @Cyberdevil, unfortunately, it's impossible... you probably don't remember / don't know, but the SWF file (from which you create .mp4 version) is limited to 16,000 frames... That's why I divided this movie into parts :)

Yeah the format switch isn't ideal, I suppose most users won't think about the Flash version either if there's an alternative. Pros and cons...

Yet it is possible to combine two or more .mp4 files via another program. ;) A lot of collabs are done that way, since it's just not possible to combine everything via Flash before export.

Okay, but who can stand / want to watch 30 minutes of a movie at once? If I saw such a "tapeworm" I would doubt XD Hehehe

@Cyberdevil @Mejson @Cyberdevil MP4 videos don't have that limitation, you can combine the two already exported MP4 versions into one movie.

Great, but (as above) would you last 30 minutes of the movie? XD It's an awful lot at once (for animation) XD in my opinion.

Just so you know it is an option. XD Of course your call. I wonder which I'd prefer personally, anime episodes are around 20 minutes without intro/outro and those usually feel just right, maybe the sweet spot's somewhere around there...

Definitely easier for something to feel too long than too short though, if it's more than just a few seconds...

Cool, we'll think about it at Reduce 2 - Pass of Time :) Because I'd rather not separate this movie to two parts :)

@Anonymous-Frog have a one movie would be great but I see two problems:
- flash limitations still exists -> @Mejson still generates swf file that is converted to mp4 (so we still have limitation of 16k frames
- ng limitation -> I can be wrong in numbers but part I + part II combined sizes are bigger than maximum value allowed by NG

So we decided to still keep it as separated movies.

I generally agree with your opinions about 'keep it as description', but according to our experience and emotions (I still remember my first stupid Flash movies 15 years ago :D) I would terribly regret 'just change flash for mp4'.

P.S It is funny that we started from 'Clock Crew Corruption' thing and still normally discuss about project and flash. It is pleasure to still have you here!

Exactly :)
I'm glad we all got to know each other! :D

@Anonymous-Frog, thank you for the discussion, it was very helpful and I personally learned a lot :)

@Cyberdevil, @Animetion24, @ChordC, @MariogD, @SayMeBott, mate, how did you spend your weekend? I practiced and walked because the weather finally be nice :) I didn't do Flash during the weekend, somehow I didn't feel like it. Today I started working on the animation :P

Walking, working, catching up. :) Seems you got our earlier weather now! Should be better here next week.

Nice :P You finally managed to make up "something"? Yours? Great thanks for your weather! :D Cool! And is it true that it is going to be a little cold again for a while? :P

@Mejson @Cyberdevil @ChordC @MariogD @SayMeBott I had a decent bit of snow where I was, so shoveled out my sidewalk and driveway for much of my weekend. I don't mind it too much - good exercise, and my dog loves running around on the mounds.

Ahhhhhh, yeah! Snow removal... if you have a sidewalk and driveway :P I did it too :) It cannot be avoided, if you have a backyard XD. Yes, good :) But you have a crazy dog! :D

@Mejson Been practicing on driving stick (manual driving), had moments where I released the clutch to fast in traffic lights which results in the engine shutting down. Getting honked by other drivers behind me is definitely a fun experience ;)

Ohhhhhh, I can see you are having a great time :P Yes... you have to feel the clutch and gears :) It's important not to worry about the dissatisfaction of others :P. Although I do not understand why they blame... no one is born immediately a driver...

@Mejson I have been it the theater with my wife. We are slowly returning to the normal life

@MariogD, okay, but I'm worried about our @MariogD... take care, brother :)

Always something yeah. :) Fixing things on my main site right now, but the queue's still long. As for the weather it'll be warmer over here. :) Seems like Texas maybe got our winter! The snow's all melted here the last few days, but sunny next week, so looking forward to that. Spring's a closing in now...

Nice to hear that :) Good to hear good news! :)

@ChordC Ah I remember those embarrassing early road-based experiences. XD Soon you won't even have to think about it though! It's all like muscle memory, becomes automatic.

@Cyberdevil Yeah, just like any other activities, it’s all about practicing. Although more and more cars are equipped with automatic transmission, it does not hurt to learn the basics of manual transmission ;).

Hmmm, with us the automatic transmission is not so popular yet - it's rarely seen, or maybe people prefer cars with manual transmission :P

@ChordC over here cars with automatic transmission definitely seem to be pretty popular. :) Personally I'm not a fan though, might've been different if that's what I started with but I feel like you just don't get as much fun out of the driving experience when you can't gear up yourself. Have tried a few automatic ones but they just felt monotone. You accelerate smoothly but you don't have any control, you can't speed it up a bit if you really press the pedal and gear up at the right RPM, driving along... it becomes more about just transportation than having fun with the car IMO. A bit of the same thing with how you often don't really feel the road with a lot of modern cars. Comfortability kills a bit of the thrill to me.

It seems to me that the greatest fun (driving a car) is using the gearbox (once you master this art) :P There is a gearbox - there are emotions XD
