Reduce 3 - Scene 13 (Planning) - Part II

Welcome everyone!


First thing:

At the beginning, information on the dub work progress for Reduce 3 - Part II. The work continues with the progress - our great voice actors. I understand that everyone has their own life and activities, so we understand perfectly well that you don't always have time to record. All dialogues from @Plasmarift completed. I am still waiting for dialogues from @Cyberdevil - 38 fixes for MariogD and from @Animetion24 - 43 dubs. Good luck and I look forward to receiving another dubs from you guys!


Main thing:

This is the second part of Scene 13, as you may have noticed. The second part contains dilemmas and conversations related to the aftermath of Scene 12. The characters are sad, especially MariogD, who also feels guilty of all the consequences (Mejson vs Keni). Bott* tries to start training Candy. I invite you to read.


Extra thing:

Probably not everyone noticed that Matt's older brother Otto (that's his nickname) has recently joined us. I am glad that we are developing so quickly and that our team is growing! This is the most important thing! I am happy and welcome a new member to the team! Please visit NG and commenting!

Scene 13 - Dilemmas

45. The scene starts at a familiar location. Under a dome made of plant pot leaves, there are primitive beds (exactly 4) and primitive rescue equipment. Two beds are closer to the viewer, and two are further away. On the one closer - on the left is Mejson, and on the other - on the right - Bill. In the background (away from the viewer) on the bed is Mr. Mate. The camera focuses on him from the very beginning. Mr. Mate wakes up (on the bed) and quickly changes from a lying position to a sitting position (facing the viewer).

46. There are drops of sweat on his forehead. Mr. Mate looks down at the ground, scratches his head and says (surprised): "What was that all about?". And after a while he adds, looking around the ground (calmly): "Strange... Since when did I have dreams?". Then he closes eyes, <sighs>, opens and squints one's eyes. The camera zooms out showing Mejson (left) and Bill (right) lying down. Mejson is heavily bandaged (aloe leaf bandages) and has a compress on his face (some green goo).

47. Mr. Mate looks straight ahead at Bill. Then he says (indifferently): "As if I was in the morgue". His gaze stops on the left, his face grows serious. He slowly gets up and walks forward (I should have had such a walk somewhere) to Mejson (on the left). The camera follows Mr. Mate. The agent is crouched behind Mejson's bed. Mr. Mate looks at Mejson's body (from head to toe), then his gaze rests on Mejson's face, his gaze sympathetic.

48. The agent says as if to himself (sympathetically): "I should have reacted earlier, my friend". Then he slightly shivers in surprise, looks blankly straight ahead and says (surprised): "I've never had a friend...". Then he regains his balance, looks gently at Mejson and says (calmly): "Take care, buddy". Then he gets up and starts walking to the left. The camera moves to the left. The camera stops by the firepit, which is on fire, and there is a spider's leg on the spit.

49. The heroes are sitting (in silence) on the stones - MariogD is on the right and Delsin is on the left. MariogD looks blankly (absent) at the ground, and Delsin looks softly at the fire. Then Delsin looks at MariogD and asks (gently): "Would you like some meat?". MariogD without any change (does not react) replies (absent): "I'm not hungry...". Delsin looks down at the ground and says (calmly): "It wasn't your fault". MariogD glares at Delsin and says (agitated): "Yes, it was!".

50. Delsin looks at him understandingly. MariogD <sighs> (calms down) then looks down at the ground again and says (sadly): "I could have stopped them...". Delsin replies (reassuringly): "Maybe so, but...". MariogD looks at his friend worried. Delsin, after a short pause (calmly): "Conflict was inevitable. We've heard many of their disputes before". MariogD nods a little in confirmation, looks into the fire. Delsin puts his hand to his chin and squints one's eyes (wonders how to console his friend).

51. Suddenly Delsin lowers his hand and looks at MariogD and says (reassuringly): "At least they left us a lot of staff". MariogD does not stop staring at the fire and says (sadly): "Yes... but that doesn’t help my brother at all…". Delsin looks at the fire indifferently. Suddenly, MarigD raises his head abruptly and practically screams with a little shudder (agitated): "But why did Mazurek and Zip have to go with those fuckers?!". And then he adds when he shakes his hands (furiously): "Why did they leave us?!".

52. Delsin shudders (instinctively) surprised by MariogD's behavior, looks at him appraisingly for a moment, then comments (intrigued): "You know perfectly well". And then continues (calmly): "Mazurek owes so much to Keni, and Zip is convinced that Mazurek is his lucky card". MariogD hits his knees with his hands as he reacts angrily. And he adds (angrily): "Fuck… I will never forgive them!". Next MariogD calms down, looks at the fire indifferently, <sighs>.

53. Then he says as if to himself (very sadly): "They hurt us…". After a small pause he squints one's eyes, looks at Delsin and adds (darkly): "We'll meet them again. I'm certain of it!". Delsin looks at MariogD with concern. After a moment, the camera moves to the left and stops at the pile of rocks (behind the spider's cage). Above this junkyard (stones), on one (bigger) stone sits Bott* (turned left). Shevy is propped on the same stone (on the right side of the stone). On the left is a training pillar (from wood) and on the left (behind this pillar) is Candy (facing right) with a spear in his hand.

54. Bott* is watching Candy. Candy looks (confused) at the training pillar, then at the spear. Then he looks at the pillar and scratches his head. Bott* squints one's eyes and asks (intrigued): "What's the problem?". Candy lowers his hand slowly, looks towards Bott* and says (hesitantly): "Odd game". Bott* closes his eyes, lowers his head, <sighs>, touches his hand to the chin and says (calmly): "It's not a game...". Candy reacts (perplexed): "What?".

55. Bott* looks at Candy with a tired look on his face and says (firmly): "Just hit it!". Candy stares at the pillar, then gently "hits" (rather taps) twice, and then "scrapes" the tip of the spear on the pillar. Next Candy makes a bored face, shrugs his shoulders and says (bored): "It's not fun". Then, he drops the spear and says (indifferently): "I'm going to Gray". Next he runs to the right (towards the cage). Bott* looks at him tired and says to himself: "Eh, nobody said this was going to be easy...".

56. After a moment, Bott* straightens up quickly, a little flinch (his face changes to puzzled), turns his head - looks to the right and says (intrigued): "Wait... 'Gray'? Not 'White' anymore?". Then he looks down at the ground, touches his hand to the chin and says to himself (thoughtful): "Spider has changed... and that was fast...". He then lowers his hand, looks to the right and says (intrigued): "Further observation necessary". After a moment of silence, Bott* makes a weary face, turns his head to left and stares at the training pillar.

57. Then he raises his hand, squints one's eyes and says (firmly): "I will not give up, Mejson is counting on me!". After a while, Bott* lowers his hand, calms down, <sighs deeply once>. Then he gets up and sits facing the viewer on the stone. Next he reaches for Shevy, puts her on his lap and strokes, he says (thoughtfully): "What do you think, darling?". And he continues saying (thoughtfully): "Can we get through to him?". After a short pause, he stops petting Shevy, shudders in surprise and says (surprised): "Really?!".

58. After a while, he calms down and puts his hand to his chin and adds (intrigued): "This is a radical step...". Then he lowers his hand, looks to the right, squints one's eyes crazy and says (crazy): "But it might work...". After a while, he looks intrigued at Shevy, then looks to the left and says (intrigued): "Yes... We're really lucky Mazurek made a design for this alarm...". Next the camera moves quickly to the left. The camera passes: workshop, stationary spear gun, few traps and a barricade.

59. It stops at the new structure - the alarm system. They are two tall poles connected by taut lianas (tensioning system) in a clever way by wheels, and on the third is a connected part that makes noise (boards hit in a wooden basket). The camera slowly presents the whole structure. Blackout.

Mr. Mate: "What was that all about?"

Just got two recommendations:

49 - I've had Delsin figured as someone who occupies himself after a tense time, such as the altercation between Mejson and Keni. So perhaps he could still be sitting by the fire with MariogD, but at the start he is cleaning up his spear launcher and/or sharpening new ammunition for it, reading over the plans for the standing spear launcher, or is rotating the spider leg in the spit, before turning his attention to MariogD?

55-57 - Bott* could also take another look back towards Mejson at the infirmary, either when Candy first gives up hitting the pillar (to which Both then facepalms) or after mentioning the spider to remind him of making sure Candy gets the training he will need?

Maybe also we could have a scene where he caresses Shevy, telling "it" how great it is that the alarm is there for them too.

DIALOGUE:

Mr. Mate: "What was that?"

Mr. Mate: "Strange... I never dreamed of anything" -> "Strange... Since when did I have dreams?"

Mr. Mate: <sighs>

Mr. Mate: "As if I were in the morgue" -> "As if I was in the morgue."

I discussed your ideas with MariogD and Bott*. Great ideas as always!

1) Delsin cleans the gun - we have found Delsin is deliberately sitting by MariogD and we want to show that he is overwhelmed by MariogD's mental state. Cleaning weapons can be perceived ambiguously. And there is nothing to distract the viewer.

2) The guys (MariogD and Bott*) wondered about it. They thought to navigate the camera as special motive, but this is not a Netflix movie and hardly anyone will understand the intentions. I don't think Bott* (character) is afraid of Mejson.

3) Bott* and Shevy - A long time there wasn't Bott* and Shevy. Yes, we all agree it's a great idea.

Nice scene. Had indeed not seen it yet but the dialog sounds good to me! And it seems atmospheric... I like the tone here. Nice with some contemplation after the battle. Some calm before the storm...
